StencilPro™ FAQ's
FAQ's and differences between StencilPro™ films and RISO ScreenMaster.
Imaging differences of StencilPro™ and RISO ScreenMaster 'S' type
The EZIscreen is cheaper and easy to use however the screens take slightly longer to create as you have to let the StencilPro develop in water for 10 mins after exposure. However this is off-set by the fact you can use inkjet/ hand drawn artwork transparencies, where as ScreenMaster mesh requires a carbon based photocopy or laser print - this can somethimes be hard to find and you may have to visit an Officeworks store to get a copy.
So it may take a few minutes longer using StencilPro to make the actual screen, but getting the artwork sorted beforehand is also easier and faster.
StencilPro™ Mesh grade is finer
StencilPro is 110Mesh for all general fabrics applications,
RISO ScreenMaster 'S' Type was available in 70Mesh, 100Mesh, 135Mesh and 200Mesh grades, however only 70 & 100Mesh are suitable for use with Print Lamp and Thermal-Copier systems
Photosensitive versus Thermal
StencilPro uses a fast and simple photosensitive emulsion coated the the mesh. ScreenMaster 'S' type has a thermal film coated to once side of the polyester mesh.
StencilPro is stronger and more durable than 'S' type, with StencilPro able to print oil, acrylic and low solvent inks.
